Title: Made For You
Author: Melissa Marr
Publication Date: September 16, 2014

Synopsis: Bestselling author of the Wicked Lovely books Melissa Marr’s first contemporary YA novel is a twisted southern gothic tale of obsession, romance, and murder. A killer is obsessed with Eva Tilling. Can she stop him, or will he claim her?

When Eva Tilling wakes up in the hospital, she’s confused—who in her sleepy little North Carolina town could have hit her with their car? And why? But before she can consider the question, she finds that she’s awoken with a strange new skill: the ability to foresee people’s deaths when they touch her.

While she is recovering from the hit-and-run, Nate, an old flame, reappears, and the two must traverse their rocky past as they figure out how to use Eva’s power to keep her friends—and themselves—alive. But while Eva and Nate grow closer, the killer grows increasingly frantic in his attempt to get to Eva.

For the first time, New York Times bestselling author Melissa Marr has applied her extraordinary talent to contemporary realism. Chilling twists, unrequited obsession, and high-stakes romance drive this Gothic, racy thriller—a story of small-town oppression and salvation. Melissa’s fans, and every YA reader, will find its wild ride enthralling.

Why?: I really enjoy thrillers, and this one sounds like it has a lot going for it - obsession, romance, murder, and a girl who can see other peoples' deaths? It has all the ingredients for an edge-of-your-seat kind of book! I've also heard really great things about Melissa Marr's other books, so I'm hoping this one is excellent too.

Expectations: Although I've never read any of Melissa's other books, I have pretty high expectations for this book. Based on the synopsis, it sounds like there's quite a bit packed into this story, so I'm expecting things to be pretty fast-paced. Also, I expect there to be a lot of Southern charm, and for a lot of things to be covered up because of the Southern way of life. I'm also expecting a lot of romance all around.

Judging a book by its cover: I actually really love this cover. I like how everything is shades of blue, and I love the way the bug looks. It's actually what drew me to this book in the first place, so I'd definitely say that I would pick it up in a bookstore or library based on the cover alone. This is one I'd love to have on my shelf!
